So i totally understand where most people tap the box but when I tore mine down I figured why not tap into both veins on the same side of the box keeping both lines out of harms way?
Is there a reason people haven't tapped into it this way before?
The short vein goes back 5/8" of an inch but I don't see any reason why it can't be drilled a little deeper if needed.
Without drilling it deeper and drilling the 7/16" hole for 1/4" NPT tap as far away as possible from the edge of the box, you'll have a min of 3/16" of material left between the hole and the edge of the box but technically since it's only 1/4" id pipe you can drill as far away as leaving 3/8" of an inch of material without restricting the flow.

didn't penski do this?  I thought I remembered seeing him post up on the AZ board about this w/pics on where he drilled.  I only remember this as it's on my list for someday.

so it looks like the hardbody boxes have 2 veins to tap into where the 1st gen has the one vein and uses the reservoir in the box  as the return

that's interesting.
So, how does the fluid get to the res. section of the box from the valve in the first place?

Does anyone have a picture of the valve section of of the box? or a pic of the box complete?

Thanks man,

I think i'm going to drill and tap it like I originally pictured, on both veins.
We'll see how it goes.
