I just got back from a long trip seeing parts of the country I've been itching to explore.

Link to my route:
My Route

First stop was Yosemite.  I've been there numerous times but was ready to go again.  I spent 4 days there and it rained the entire time.

I pretty much drove straight through Nevada camping one night on BLM land outside of Winnemucca.  It rained my entire drive through Nevada too.

I was kind of lost on the road below.  Both my GPS and map were pointing me in a direction where no trail existed.  Eventually the road narrowed and narrowed until it was a barely worn dual track.  I turned around and backtracked 50 miles.

Wow, amazingly cool pics!
How long were you on the road?  I've never been to Yosemite or any of those places for that matter, was Yosemite packed?

I was on the road for two weeks.  Yosemite was pretty empty.  The rain drove everyone away and Tioga Pass which is one of the routes through the Sierras closed due to snow when we were there.

I've never been there but want to check it out sometime!

Looks like your rig was pretty well set up, how was that roof top tent?

Look's like Tioga is South of where you crossed, is it a lower elevation or just a better maintained road?

Yes tioga Pass (120) is south of where I went across.  I went across SR-4.  It was the only open road across the Sierras due to snow.  I had hoped to take a more rural route into Nevada but I had to go through Carson City.  If you ever get a chance to go over Tioga Pass I highly recommend it.  I did it on a motorcycle last year.  It's incredible.

I love the roof top tent.  It's way easier setting it up and tearing it down than a ground tent especially if you are moving locations every day.  Ideally though I'd like it to be on a trailer so I can leave it at camp and still drive my truck around when I'm staying at one campsite for more than one night.
