Outdoor Adventure USA (Welcome to Outdoor Adventure USA, LLC - Everyone deserves to be outdoors.)

is holding their annual "Summerfest"

in Big Bear, CA - June 25-27, 2010.

This event is open to all -
there will be 4x4 trail runs, hiking trips, and a Amateur Radio Field Day station...

In addition to all the off-road trail activities and hiking trips planned,
We are looking for all licensed ham radio operators, interested in participating in this Amateur Radio Field Day event, to sign up and volunteer to help us demonstrate the fun of worldwide HF communications and the benefit of Ham radio as a method of emergency communication in the outback. Field Day is an annual event that is used to demonstrate the ability of amateur radio to provide communication in emergency situations - in any environment, using the resources available.

We will be setting up amateur radio operating stations in the Big Bear backcountry, utilizing generator, battery, and wind generator power. We will be operating at least 5 dedicated radio systems in an attempt to make contacts on various bands worldwide, over a 24 hour period. Anyone can help out with our Field Day operation as long as a licensed amateur is present  - with the bands charged with stations worldwide looking to make contacts with US participants, this promises to be a spectacular event in an amazing area.

Join us for a weekend of fun at OAUSA Summerfest 2010 !!!

Motel6?
Who are you? and what'd you do with Rob?  Hit

I'm going up early on Friday morning to start setting up radio stuff at the main camp.

I'll also be grabbing a next nearest yellow post site for us.

The trail runs are listed here:
http://www.oausa.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=145

but if anyone is interested, I'm thinking about running off to john bull at some point. maybe friday afternoon / evening if we get everything set up early enough?

you too Bobby  Thumb-Up

OAUSA is going to have borrego fest at the end of october.
I'm considering going as long as it doesn't interfere with Nissan West Coast Meet...which we need to start planning for ASAP.

haha yeah it was good meeting everyone, even though I wish I could've stayed overnight. I met Bobby, when I was lost driving around looking for the entrance of the service road. I finally realized that I went too far and headed back, and saw a nice built white X headed my way and he gave me some better directions haha thanks bobby!  cheers
