I'll tell you a story!

We headed out at 1am the morning of the 20th to drive all night and start our 4 day journey along the swamp lake 4x4 trail.
After a quick fast food breakfast in town we soon found out that there is still snow on ALL the trails up there. Not just a little snow, a whole lot. more than enough to get us into trouble. so instead of heading onto swamp lake we decided to explore some other lower elevation trails for a few days. the first night we even watched Shutter Island in camp.
All of the pics are here: http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/gallery/v/lost-creek-sierra-4x4-5-20-2010/

Had a real blast, even though the long "high speed" drive up put the nail in the coffin on my old 5spd transmission!

Here's my pix, I sat in the back yard to upload and post this!  I tried to link a slideshow but it seems that photobucket changed stuff around.

Great pics Gregg. I don't know what I was thinking when I was grabbing SDcards and forgot yours.  Sad But now I can steal them from photobucket.  Thumb-Up

Could you imagine a regular vehicle hitting this hole by accident like I did?

I took about 230 and whittled it down to 47!  I couldn't figure out a way to link a slideshow, also having internet access issues too!

Could you imagine if that Dodge that was on the other side went in it!!

Hmmmnn, not sure, maybe because it was a photoshop jpeg as opposed to a camera created jpeg Huh?  I'm sure there's some techno mumbo jumbo byte order issue or something like that.

Also I emailed the pbucket link to a bunch of friends and a lot said that it didn't work, not sure what that's about.  I usually take my selects and make a quicktime slide show and post that but there were too many vertical format shots.

I dunno if the link I posted worked, a bunch of folks I emailed said it didn't.  When it happens beyond my parents I actually wonder.  Here's the link that worked for them, not sure what's going on w/ Pbucket these days.

http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m238/helix66/10-05-23_Sierra%20Trip/

I was being lazy not C&Ping the links, I had about 230 pix and I whittled it down to 47, still a lot though.

I've only been out in CA for maybe four or five years and still blown away by how amazingly beautiful it is here, the mountains, forests and deserts are just incredible, the beaches too!

Toyoda!

Circle the wagons!

....I don't even eat this good at home!

Big pimpin' campn'....movie night!!

$H!* load of snow was ahead of us, I think we headed back after this as it was later in the day.

According to Rob's tilt-0-meter this was a 30* off camber section.  It's amazing what a little altitude and weather will do....doesn't happen too often in NY!

Back along the 168 after getting off that trail and headed for pizza & some  cheers

.......also always meeting good people wheeling and surfing too!
