Found a weak point. Stock wagoner steering components not up to par. I Will have to swap with 1 ton TRE and DOM tubing.

Original question: Can an 88 Pathfinder Tx10 manual work in an 04 Xterra automatic? Ready to Swap (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/1_1.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/1_1.jpg.html) Center console removed (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/2.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/2.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/3.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/3.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/4.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/4.jpg.html) Stock 04 Xterra Tx10 automatic removed (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/5.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/5.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/6.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/6.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/7.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/7.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/8.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/8.jpg.html) 88 Pathfinder Tx10 manual gears installed / painted and ready to go. (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/9.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/9.jpg.html) Front flange swap over, 04 speedo swapped over, 4x4 dash light plug swapped over. Oil gutter under the main input was cut and grinded off. Only mod needed to make a manual work in an automatic. Ready to go in. (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/10.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/10.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/12_1.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/12_1.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/11_1.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/11_1.jpg.html) 04 transfer case shift linkage was Ύ too long. Ύ was cut out and linkage was welded back together. (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/14.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/14.jpg.html) (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n193/marinecorpwife8/15_1.jpg) (http://s112.photobucket.com/user/marinecorpwife8/media/15_1.jpg.html) So to answer the original question will it work? Yes, it will work but you lose your 4x4 dash light indicator and the shift linkage needs to be modified. The indicator light switch was opposite on the 88 case than the 04 case. When my X is in 2wd my 4x4 light is on now, and when Im in 4hi or 4lo my indicator light is off. Big thanks go to Kenny The King for the help, information, and garage. |
