thats my buddy dave's jeep. i went wheeling with a few guys from work and now they all want their rigs to get "the kenny treatment."

the pro rocks and the king ibp's may have been my influence on him.  :D

No kidding Mike!  Kenny "the Queen" sent me an e-mail claiming the front end was going to be on the ground today, and the rear axel will be gone by tommorrow.  If thats the case, where are the updated pics? ???

looking good. did you use square shock mounts to minimise intrusion into the bay?

i only had 7.5" to work with.  My bender outside diameter is 10.5".  It worked out.  I'm going to add a cross brace between the hoops.

front is at 6" up travel.  frame at 21" roof at 79".  JK's are a little taller than the d21's.

super excited to see this thing in person! :D  Kenny,  the front end of this thing is too awesome to complete the job without hydro assist.  let me know what parts you need me to get to make that happen.
On a side note,,,, Mike, what the hell is up with your avatar?  Is that a....  what is that?

Title: Re: 2012 JK prorock 60's
Post by: theking on November 02, 2012, 09:47:30 AM
looks like it's not a problem tapping the the stock steering box.  So, what you need is a 1.5" bore 6.75 stroke ram (psc has one for about $200), a hose kit, and an inline cooler.   I would do a bigger reservoir, too, but I'd have to make it custom to fit.

kenny, im not sure i understand your brackets on the axle. ???  i thought we were just going with a long arm, stock like system.  Did you find a way to make it a 3 link?

Title: Re: 2012 JK prorock 60's
Post by: big dr on November 07, 2012, 08:03:28 PM
or,, is the axle still without the shock brackets?

Title: Re: 2012 JK prorock 60's
Post by: theking on November 07, 2012, 09:05:06 PM
it's still a 4 link with panhard, like the stock setup.  arms are now 31".  There is no way to 3 link it properly without relocating the gas tank.  I'm still working on the shock mounts, so....i spoke too soon, not quite done. haha

Post by: big dr on November 07, 2012, 09:50:59 PM
wow!,, 31" is a long arm,,,,,, how far back did you plan on putting that rear axle?  I thought the arms were going to be 26-28.  I cant wait to see it tommorrow :D

i know, i know.  just wraping up bunch of little things, not very exciting.  still need to do exhaust, sliders, air intake tube, wire the arb lockers & switches, add nitrogen, bleed brakes...

added a plate and tube to help brace the upper link:

shocks are in and arb pump mounted
(http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/kennylauter909/Daves%202%20dr%20JK%20on%20Prorock%2060s/IMG_2232.jpg)

cut down the brake lines, relocated the bump stops and added limit straps, parking brake cables.

Well,, the Saturday after Thanksgiving kenny(the king) and I took the jeep out to Ocotillo Wells for its first test drive.  All I can say is wow!!!  She drove across the desert at 50 MPH and soaked up all the bumps smoothly!!  She received compliments everywhere we went, and people kept asking what kind of suspension I installed.  I just kept pointing at Kenny in the passenger seat saying, "he did it."  we took on some pretty difficult obstacles at the 4x4 testing area and the jeep did great!  Flexed great!  Crawled up everything we pointed it at!  except for the 6' pipe at the top of an obstacle(but that was my fault cause i didn't want to give it enough gas to high center and fall onto the other side).  It would have done even better if we aired down the tires to an appropriate level.  There are just a few more things to do. We will install a rear antirock swaybar to give her better street manners.  Then I will have another fabricator who bends aluminum fab up the front inner fender wells and a box to cover up the rear shock tower.  I'v already ordered the rear fender flares, and ill have them on in the next week or 2.  Thanks to all who checked out the build.  I will post finished pics when I'm all done.  ;D :D :jk:

well, its not so much the performance, but the controlled light cutoff that the projector hid retrofit gives. the vid shows what its like.
