Title: Sway-A-Way Coilover Assembly
Post by: SteeevO on October 03, 2012, 07:40:08 PM
A step by step guide on assembling 14" Travel, 2.5" w/ Remote Res. Sway-A-Way Coilovers with a dual rate spring setup. It's very simple but this could pretty informative for that that have never done it before.

Pics will come soon.

How was the performance of those 14's? What ratio are they set up for up and down travel?

so far they are great!
they are at about 6" up and 8 down.

The springs are 250/200. both at 14" long.

I actually didn't get any pics of the coilover going together however, putting coil overs together is super simple!

When the shock itself comes from the manufacture, all you need to do is slide the top spring over the shock body from the bottom, then slide the spring isolator on after that, then the bottom spring, then the bottom spring retainer slides into place.

you'll then want to adjust the top spring preload adjuster down just enough so the springs don't float.
If you're running the correct spring rates, your truck will sit at the proper ride height without adding any additional preload.
