nissan went and done to the pathfinder what chevy did to the nova in the 90's.  some designers at nissan need B***H slapped for just thinkin about it and once again for doing it. sad sad sad

We had training on these the other day.
Although they still have a selectable 2wd, 4wd and 4wd lock (not 4 lo) they showed all 4 generations side by side and the term "off road capable" was listed under the first 3, but missing from the 4th gen.
Its got a cvt transmission but retains a 5000lb towing capacity.
With the new fuel economy breakthroughs they seem to have come up with, it looks like the new pathfinder will burn ad much gas as the old altima.
Btw, the new altima looks like it will have about the same fuel economy as a tdi jetta. We're predicting 900-1100km (whatever that works out in miles) to a tank of fuel.

Regardless, until we see a 5th generation pathy, its unlikely this vehicle will see much offroading, other than maybe a cottage road.
