Is there a reason people haven't tapped into it this way before? The short vein goes back 5/8" of an inch but I don't see any reason why it can't be drilled a little deeper if needed. Without drilling it deeper and drilling the 7/16" hole for 1/4" NPT tap as far away as possible from the edge of the box, you'll have a min of 3/16" of material left between the hole and the edge of the box but technically since it's only 1/4" id pipe you can drill as far away as leaving 3/8" of an inch of material without restricting the flow. So, how does the fluid get to the res. section of the box from the valve in the first place? Does anyone have a picture of the valve section of of the box? or a pic of the box complete?
