Title: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: SteeevO on November 13, 2009, 12:32:22 PM
I don't know how many of you have seen this:
http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/blog/2009/10/06/update-nissan-98-04-lock-right-locker-rugged-rocks/

I just talked to Richmond and they have moved the priority of this locker up in line and it's now the next locker they will be working on. there is a chance we'll be seeing prototypes by the end of the year.

It would be great if they could get it out by at least March, so that I could get one in before Gone. But that we will just have to see when the time comes.

What's the size in the pathfinders...wd21?

You guys will really dig it when it's done, it's probably one of the best mods you can do!

We were supposed to have prototypes already but the guy i have been working with is now in the hospital recovering from surgery. so things have been a bit delayed because of it. but things are rolling along.

WD21 has 31-spline.

Actually. The Owner is back and I've sent them a LSD Carrier to work with.
It's happening but just like anything else it's taking time... but it'll happen.

if this can work, how bout a real carrier like a detroit or trutrac?

Title: Re: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: SteeevO on October 24, 2010, 11:46:49 PM
I can have the detroits made but the catch is that I need to order 25 of them at once.

Title: Re: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: SteeevO on November 01, 2010, 05:53:08 PM
They got back to me today saying that they have torn the LSD carrier apart and will have the LockRight designed in the next 2 weeks or so.
From there it will be about 6 - 8 weeks until I see a few prototypes.

I am so happy... I guess there is no word on pricing yet?

From the comments the LockRight will go into a LSD rear end? If true I don't have to start looking for a open carrier.

Title: Re: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: SteeevO on March 23, 2011, 07:51:21 PM
Yup, It'll fit in the LSD carrier, I'm expecting the pricing to be in the $350 range but there isn't an official word on that yet.

Now that I have a frontier, I'm waiting for this product to come to market too. I loved the wd21 version, they make a big difference on the trail and in the snow around here.

Good to know!
I'll pass the word along

Title: Re: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: KovemaN on September 19, 2011, 09:34:06 AM
Since this will be using the LSD carrier I think there is  a very good chance that it will also work in the 31 spline LSD units.  I believe the only difference between the two is the side gears.

So, 2 years later, where exactly do we stand?  Is this actually going to go into full production sometime this year?

I know this wait time has beeb WAY longer than they originally said.
I'll give them a call today and post up what they say.

I called them and they said they wre going to get back to me last week. They started giving me the same run-around but they said they were going to get more info and call me back.

I just tried calling them again and didn't get an answer.
I'm trying to get someone else on the phone to get more info.

Post by: SteeevO on December 08, 2011, 01:46:23 PM
I talked to someone else today but I wasn't able to get any more info on it.
Part of the reason being is that Motive Gear bought Richmond, Lock Right and Powertrax.
Jeff, from MotiveGear, is going hunt down more info as give me a ring back .

They haven't called me back.
This project has been a bit frustrating... I'll call again today.

Anymore news from them?

Title: Re: 33-Spline H233B Lockright Locker
Post by: SteeevO on January 19, 2012, 11:52:29 PM
they aren't returning my calls but I'll keep on them. they have some of my stuff as well.
if they aren't going to use it, I'd like to get it back, a 33-spl LSD etc..

there have been a lot of companies buying other companies lately and every time this happens it seems that things get a bit chaotic  for a while. I'll get on them about this.
I'll get some new contact info and maybe we can all call in to show how interested we all really are.

would you guys be up for that?

I'd do whatever it takes to get this locker in production.

I started a thread on the Canadian Nissan Truck Club forum to try drumming up some more support. I still want one of these for my own truck as well.

This sounds good guys. spread the word!

I'm still trying to track down who this project went to after the sale of the lockright branch of the company.
I should also have some contact info for someone soon, hopefully by the end of the day.

I got in touch with a new guy today at Motive Gear. He seems to really know how to track this project down much better than the previous people I've spoken to. the guy we need to talk to is actually out of the country on business but we should have more info by Tuesday.

I spoke to Tim Domico at Motive Gear.

I'm not sure but from what I'm told, some carriers were ordered from nissan to verify crossovers between vehicles.

Hopefully I"ll know more soon.

it was dropped but it's getting picked back up.

Good to hear!  Any word on timeline?

I found 3 sites out there selling lock-right lockers for the H233b 33 spline axle.  They maintain it will work for either spline count by keeping the side gears.  They seem to be mistaken but I think it's interesting 3 separate retailers are selling a product that apparently doesn't exist...

I had found the same thing in the past and clued them in some updated it some didn't.. I guess they can learn the hard way.

So, getting picked back up eh?  This has been in the works for nearly 5 years now.  Why should we believe it's going to happen?

Good question.
This locker has been like an engine that won't start.
But Aussie locker is looking at doing it now...
