Title: Re: first.
Post by: roastbeef on January 26, 2011, 05:09:15 AM
make me an offer on my old ones.
king 2.5 remote resi's. 14" travel, dual rate 300 over 250 springs. valved for 15 compression and 12 rebound. they were $1,200 new three years ago. they are in fine working condition, but they definitely have seen some use.

Title: Re: first.
Post by: gitarboyx on January 26, 2011, 08:05:10 AM
Hmm. Well i dot know really what would be a good price I definitely know they got use  haha but yeah I'm sure they are fine. They were that much for the pair of each?

Title: Re: first.

Bypass and Coilover in one package!  Badass!  Wonder what the mounting lengths are on those?

It definitely looks like a nice package but also definitely not a space saver. they look super long.. lol

they were $1,200 new for the pair. i can't remember if that included tax or not...

and yes, the coilpass does look a little longer then a traditional coilover, but nothing on the website says the length... that could just be a monster 18" shock or something.

That was pretty humorous when Steevo's little brother pops into view and kicks that ice chest off the trail. lol

Title: Re: first.
Post by: Oz on February 15, 2011, 06:58:36 PM
OK KOH is over (IFS WINS btw) so where is everyone? No one's posting? Any runs? Eveyone die? Chime in!

Title: Re: first.
Post by: roastbeef on February 15, 2011, 07:02:56 PM
the only injury was some dude that broke his leg lowering his trailer ramp.

i was thinking a cool thought of running a currie 9" pumpkin up front with ifs and a couble cv shaft so the pumpkin could be mounted in the center for maximum travel. then i could use my dynatrac in the rear with a hydro rear steer setup.

Title: Re: first.
Post by: theking on February 15, 2011, 08:39:46 PM
building a IFS rig would be cool.  Figuring out the steering, geometry, and spindles would take some research.

We didn't get to see much of the race.  a lot of the course was blocked off to spectators.  I heard one guy lost is hand saturday night when he rolled is rig on sledge.

Title: Re: first.
Post by: Oz on February 15, 2011, 09:42:53 PM
Yeah I heard that the front dif on the IFS truck that won cost 50k

Title: Re: first.
Post by: roastbeef on February 15, 2011, 10:56:58 PM
not quite $50k oz, where ever you got that info from probably had a typo. they probably cost around $5k built with cv's and all the bling parts.

Title: Re: first.
Post by: penski61 on February 15, 2011, 11:03:54 PM
nope not a typo
around 50k in the front diff and somewhere around 12k per axle shaft
atleast that is what the guy at shannon's shop told me unless he meant 50k total for the front  end

Title: Re: first.
Post by: theking on February 15, 2011, 11:28:36 PM
There is a lot of work in making that front end.  50K is probably pretty realistic.

Title: Re: first.
Post by: roastbeef on February 16, 2011, 05:08:51 AM
the front half of the truck with the diff, shafts, suspension, and steering i can see it getting towards $50k, but that still seems a little high.
i can't imagine why the front would cost so much. what the hell is it made out of?

Title: Re: first.
Post by: penski61 on February 16, 2011, 07:15:11 AM
one off custom part , that crap adds up
i think on the 2nd gen project X they had a front locker that was 20k

Title: Re: first.
Post by: theking on February 16, 2011, 03:16:37 PM
 ::)

They did a 2nd gen SAS?

Title: Re: first.
Post by: Oz on February 16, 2011, 04:49:35 PM
No matter the cost I'd be curious to see if next year there will be more IFS buggies; since that one won KOH

Title: Re: first.

just find the wires, cut them, and relocate it to the top of the intake manifold. it works wonders and its really easy to change.
