chassis framed up. 76" wide, 135" long, 31" tongue. chassis is 300 pounds so far. 800 pounds est curb weight. That state allows it for non-residents, that's why a lot of the trucking companies do it. I think it's like $12. Then later you can just transfer it to CA plates. They can also issue a title for an extra fee. Came across this little tidbit when researching story ideas for the magazine.
Registering in CA for the first time means they have to check it out + pay tax on the amount of materials on top of everything else. They didn't even really inspect the trailer at all. They just asked how much it weighed and what it was for (vehicle carrier). I didn't think it would be that easy!
